Frequently Asked Questions
-
I am physically located in Alexandria VA. Currently I see all clients through telehealth, with exceptions for clients being seen for Intensive sessions. Intensive sessions can be held in-person at my office in Alexandria, VA.. I can see clients who are located in VA, DC, and MD.
-
I begin meeting with all new clients on a weekly basis. I find that this frequency and consistency is necessary to build a safe, therapeutic relationship, and make progress as quickly as possible. We will regularly assess when and if it is clinically appropriate to reduce the frequency to every other week, monthly, or as needed.
-
I offer in-person sessions for therapy Intensives.
-
My fees are: $200 for a 60 minute session; $300 for a 90 minute extended session; $240/hr for Intensive sessions. I accept credit/debit cards for payment.
-
I do not accept insurance for payment. However, I am considered an “out-of-network” provider, and some health insurance plans will reimburse around 50-80% of the cost of a 60 minute session therapy session.
Questions to ask your insurance company:
Do I have mental/behavioral health insurance benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
-
That all depends on how quickly you make progress, and begin to feel better. Some people begin to see improvements in months, while others take longer. Extended and Intensive sessions may provide accelerated progress. We will regularly discuss your progress, and assess your need for therapy.
-
Once time is allocated for your therapy session, that time is yours. It is difficult to reallocate that time to another on short notice. I must therefore charge for cancellations made less than one full working day (24 hours) before the appointment time. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, or miss an appointment entirely, you will be responsible for paying the full fee for the session missed.
-
Yes. In the U.S., therapists are bound by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to protect the privacy of clients’ information. This means that I can not disclose any information about clients without their consent, except in certain limited circumstances.
